March 15, 2022 BY Penny Palmer
British singer-songwriter RHODES, who has just signed a deal with Nettwerk and Tap Management (Dermot Kennedy, Lana Del Rey, London Grammar), returns with stunning new single “No Words” – LISTEN HERE. Accompanying the track, he unveiled a beautiful lyric video – WATCH HERE.
On “No Words,” RHODES said – ‘”The essence of this song is loss. Specifically, the loss I felt after believing a dream to have been real for a brief moment directly after waking up. Those moments can sometimes set you up for a day of nostalgic reflection, and as soon as I woke up that morning, I just sat at the piano with a coffee, and the song just poured out. The song is knowing that nothing I could ever do or say could bring this person back to me. I decided to tag it on the album at the last minute because I loved it so much.”
“No Words” is the first offering from RHODES’s upcoming album, a collection of highly personal and emotive tracks, later this year. After taking a step back and going through what he describes as a transformative period, both professionally and personally, he turned to writing and recording during lockdown alongside producers Rich Cooper (Billie Marten, Rina Sawayama) and Ash Workman (Christine and the Queens, Metronomy). The upcoming album will be RHODES’ first since acclaimed debut album Wishes, which included the hit single “Let It At All Go,” a duet with Birdy that has now amassed 175 million Spotify streams.
With over 1.7million monthly Spotify listeners, RHODES is revived and ready to share tales of love, loss, friendship & hope, beginning with the release of “No Words.”
